Applications are invited from the intending Indian Citizens for filling up the post of Managing Director in Assam Gas Company Limited (AGCL), Assam

COMPANY PROFILE :
Assam Gas Company Limited is an ISO-180-9001:2008 certified profit making and dividend paying State Public Sector Undertaking of Assam having annual Turnover of about Rs 700 Crore . The Company was incorporated in 1962 as Limited Company under Companies Act, 1956 (presently Companies Act, 2013) with its registered office at Duliajan. DistDibrugarh, Assam and is involved in Transportation and Distribution of Natural Gas to various domestic and industrial consumers and marketing of
Petroleum Products/ CNG in the State of Assam. Assam Gas. Company Ltd has its four Joint Venture Companies.


II. NAME OF THE POST: MANAGING DIRECTOR

III. JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • The Managing Director is the Chief Executive of the Company and is accountable to its Board of Directors and Government of Assam.
  • He/She is responsible for the efficient functioning of the Company for achieving its corporate objectives/goal and performance parameters.
  • The Job requires a person of outstanding professional competence and proven managerial ability.
  • He/She should have required ability and leadership qualities to direct a multidisciplinary and highly qualified team to achieve the objectives of the organization. He/She should have sharp business acumen with demonstrated sensitivity to the external business environment and the ability to spot opportunities and exploit them to the advantage of the company.

IV. ELIGIBLITY:

AGE:

  • Minimum age of the applicant should not less than 45 years and maximum age should not exceed 57 years as on 1st October, 2023.
  • Relaxation of the upper age limit for the in service internal candidates by one year is provided up to the age of 58 years.
  • The age of superannuation is 60 years.

EMPLOYMENT STATUS:

  • The applicant must on the date of application as well as on the date of interview be employed in a regular capacity and not in contractual/ad-hoc capacity – as one of the following:
    i. An officer of a Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) or State Public Sector Enterprise or Autonomous Organization.
    ii. An officer of the State Government or Central Government.
    iii. An officer in a Reputed Private Sector/Multinational Company having minimum Annual Turnover of Rs 500 Crore.

QUALIFICATION:

  • The incumbent should be an Engineering Graduate /CA/ICWA/MBA or equivalent from a recognized University/institution.


EXPERIENCE:

  • The incumbent should possess minimum 15 years working experience in a senior position, and minimum 5 years not below the rank of a General Manager or equivalent rank in the Public Sector Undertakings/ Autonomous
    Body or in the rank of Deputy Secretary in the State Government or equivalent in the Central Govt. with excellent and proven track record in management and marketing of Hydrocarbon/ Transportation of Piped Gas /
    Gas Distribution. The candidates must have sufficient experience of independently conducting administrative function in established Public Sector
    Enterprises or Private Sector Company or Autonomous Body/ Govt. Deparment

PAY SCALE:

  • The post carries a fix pay scale of Rs. 130000/- per month . Other Perks and allowances shall be admissible as per Company Rules.


TENURE OF APPOINTMENT:

  • The appointment shall be initially for a period of 3 years. However, based on assessment of performance by the Board of Directors of the Company
    and approval of Government, the term may be extended by another 2 years or up to the date of superannuation, whichever is earlier.

  • Single to and from economy class airfare by shortest route from residence/place of present posting to the place of interview would be reimbursed by AGCL to the candidates called for interview subject to production of actual
    travel documents and receipts .
